Three Athletes In Contention for Young Athlete of the Year Honour

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.
The three finalists have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.
This year's winner will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.
The show will be aired from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.
These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
