The January transfer market is always a period of intense speculation and possible big-money transfers. A number of notable footballers find themselves linked with transfers away from their current clubs. We examine some of the major names who might be changing clubs in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Marc Guéhi

The Turin club are eager to tie down the youngster to a new long-term agreement but are in a battle to retain one of the continent's brightest prospects.

Kees Smit

The much-admired Dutch midfielder has earned comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne for his style of play. After impressing at the U19 Euros, Smit has broken into the AZ first team. This teenager is widely expected to make a major transfer in January. Newcastle United reportedly are frontrunners, but could face stiff competition from the Spanish champions for a signing valued at approximately £22 million.
