Cameron Norrie secured the biggest win of his career by coming back from a early deficit to defeat world No 1 Carlos Alcaraz in three hard-fought sets in the early stage of the Paris Masters.

Even though he had previously defeated Alcaraz on two separate matches, this victory marks Norrie's maiden success over a current world No 1.

"Enormous. So big for me," commented Norrie, who joins as the fifth English competitor in history to defeat a global number one. Norrie, seeded No 31, also stopped Alcaraz's supreme streak of nine straight final appearances and 17 successive elite tournament victories, which marked the finest stretch of results in the young champion's young professional path.
