Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is uncertain and the US has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
