Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
