The tenth week again delivered, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that draws so many people into the National Football League
This outcome could have created things up for the Patriots to move back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their 8-2 competitors
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City last week or something more? That's the question for the Bills to answer
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly Miami had ten days to prepare but it was still a significant failure laid by one of the league's top offences
Tua Tagovailoa passed for two touchdowns but running back Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Bottling up the league's best rushing attack was crucial too, with Cook and company registering just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5-yard season average
Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine-minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter fumble that Miami converted to a touchdown just two plays
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defense and Josh Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - rather than the composed, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've seen this year
Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this year so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Regarding the New England, they're one of three 8-2 squads in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the top team?
One could find flaws in New England, Denver and Indianapolis really for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their total 24 wins achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos
The Broncos defeated the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indy can ride Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Buffalo seems like a declaration
Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive wins, similar to the Broncos, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to prepare was significant
Drake Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely deserves point for bravery after taking some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to steer his team to victory
The defensive unit is solid and first-year rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exciting touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to break 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown
While you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the best record thanks to their schedule - which features just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against Buffalo
Traveling to Baltimore is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to face two times, the Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the five and four Jacksonville to face. There's a considerable distance to go but the door is available for a surprise top seed in the American Football Conference
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Next Week Showdown
Two teams with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different eight and two teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who both scored forty points to reach 7-2 before next week's Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in Los Angeles
They've both secured four victories in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold performing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses allowing under 20 points a contest
Each could realistically be without a loss as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their pair of losses came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play blocked and returned by the Eagles for a touchdown
The Seahawks were also defeated to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're genuinely among the top teams in the NFL
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Berlin - running for 244 yards, registering three touchdowns and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
